Kylie Minogue is glad she decided not to cancel her tour of Japan in the aftermath of last moth's earthquake/tsunami disaster, but she had to think "long and hard" about pushing ahead with the shows.
The Australian singer kicked off her Aphrodite-Les Folies tour in Tokyo on Saturday (23Apr11), but Minogue admits she nearly cancelled the trek after hearing of the country's ongoing problems with aftershocks and a potential nuclear crisis.
She says, "I thought long and hard about it and it wasn't an easy decision to make. I was in shock like the rest of the world at the devastation here and in the end I wanted to come."
After the first concert, she wrote in a post on her Twitter.com page, "Tokyo... You were a*m*a*z*i*n*g!!!! So emotional so fun so beautiful!!"
Minogue attended a charity gala dinner in the Japanese capital on Friday night (22Apr11) to help raise money for victims of the disaster.
