Kristen Stewart might be hitting the books this year.
We’ve known for a while that Kristen Stewart is one clever lady and the actress has been quite outspoken about her views, but now she’s going the extra mile and actually heading back to university, according to tabloid reports. She is joining the likes of ladies like Natalie Portman and Emma Watson and going through with her education. The rumor hasn’t been confirmed by the actress or the institution just yet, but it has been picked up by The Independent and Vogue.
Kristen is as glamorous as she is worldly.
According to several celebrity news outlets, the former Twilight star, who is currently taking the indie movie route, has enrolled at UCLA for a distance learning course in English. This is a smart move for K-Stew in more ways than one. The actress put off college to take on the starring role as Bella in the Twilight series and is now reportedly hoping to complete her education and hopefully open more doors for herself (though with that Twilight pay check, we can’t imagine too many were closed to begin with.) If so, she's picked a good place to do it - UCLA ranks 10th for English in 2013 university tables.
If the rumors are true, Kristen will be joining one of the top schools in the country.
"She is already considering a life after film. She never got to complete college and she wants to get a proper education," said a source, according to tabloids. "She is a voracious reader and cannot wait to get going on her correspondence course. It won't be easy and it will mean putting in some fairly strenuous hours. But once she's graduated, Kristen will be able to do almost anything she wants, in or out of Hollywood."
The actress will be reading up in her spare time from filming Camp X Ray.
Well, an English degree isn’t exactly the most marketable choice (trust us on this one) but in Stewart’s chosen career, some extra critical reading skills definitely couldn’t hurt. And, as an added bonus, her course would mean graduating from Twilight onto reading material of a rather different sort.
Bella Swan gig aside, Stewart continues to be an inspiration to young women.
