Kris Jenner doesn't think her granddaughter North West will be taunted over her name.
The 57-year-old TV personality, who become a grandmother for the third time last month, has defended her daughter Kim Kardashian and her boyfriend Kanye West's odd choice of name for their baby girl and thinks she'll be fine despite her moniker being a compass reference.
When quizzed about whether her granddaughter will receive jibes about her unusual name during an appearance on 'Watch What Happens Live' on Wednesday (10.07.13), she said: ''No, because you don't walk around saying, 'Hi, North West.' You walk around saying, 'Hi North', or whatever her nickname may end up being. [People] don't walk around [saying], 'Hi Kris Jenner!' ''
Kris - who manages Kim and her other children's careers - insists it was a ''joint decision'' by Kim and Kanye, to give their first child, whose nickname is Nori, the directional moniker.
She previously said: ''I think it was a joint decision. They did it together ... I stayed out of that one.''
The name has been criticised by many commentators and fans but Kris approves of it because of the meaning behind it.
She said: ''North is the highest power. And their baby North, their little girl, is the highest point and power between the two of them. So I thought that was really cool.''
