Kid Rock, the American rocker who has tirelessly helped his hometown of Detroit recover from economic disaster, is coming to the aid of other struggling cities with a new tour. The singer-songwriter is heading out on an upcoming club tour in an attempt to raise money for cash-strapped American cities.
The 10-city jaunt, beginning in New York on November 16th 2011, will hit Buffalo, Indianapolis, Nashville, Chicago, Kansas City, Denver, Magna, Boise and Spokane. In a statement, Kid Rock announced he had "assembled a team of Detroit titans to show support for other cities in need, and to show that Detroit, while experiencing [its] own difficulties still has the power to unite to help others around the country". Teaming up with a group of Detroit business leaders, the singer will donate money to local charities, causes and individuals through his 'Kid Rock Foundation' - local radio stations will help to determine the worthy causes in each city. The tour is the singer's idea and is timed to coincide with his latest single 'Care', which urges Americans to stop arguing and take care of those in need. In the statement, the singer explained, ".I want to show that even though we don't have a lot on our own plate, it doesn't mean the people of my hometown don't have compassion to share with others all over the country".
Tickets for the tour go on sale on Saturday 15th October, with fans in the Kid Rock Congregation able to purchase pre-sale tickets earlier.
