Khloe Kardashian has hit back at critics who likened her denim factory to a ‘sweatshop’ on social media.

The reality star took fans inside her Good American denim factory on Tuesday afternoon, giving them a behind-the-scenes look into how the jeans are made.

But some fans criticised Khloe and the Los Angeles factory, comparing it to a 'sweatshop'.

One fan tweeted: "By the looks of @khloekardashian Snapchat, she's got a sweat shop working on her jeans.”

However Khloe was quick to hit back on Twitter, responding: "Watch your mouth. All make salaries and all are employed in la! Know your info before you chime in.”

In a separate tweet she then added: "It means a lot to me to fight to make my denim in the US and to be employing good wages to all of my hardworking employees!"

Khloe launched her Good American Denim line last month. The jeans come in US sizes 0 to 24 and the collection is said to celebrate real women’s curves.

Speaking about the inspiration for the line at the Fortune Most Powerful Women Next Gen Summit on Tuesday, Khloe said she was once “embarrassed to go shopping with my sisters, who are petite,” adding that she found a lot of designers didn't properly cater for all sizes.

As for why the brand is important to her, the 32-year-old added: “I remember the chubby girl in me and I’m fighting for my chubby self."
