Keith Richards has apologised to band mate Mick Jagger for the comments made about him in the former's 2010 autobiography Life.

The founding member of the Rolling Stones released the book in October 2010, which became a bestseller. However, Richards made derogatory remarks about the lead vocalist, describing their relationship as 'strained', as well as calling him 'unbearable' and mocking the size of his manhood.

Now, in a joint interview with Rolling Stone magazine, the pair have settled their differences. Jagger admitted that 'Looking back at any career you are bound to recall both the highs and the lows. In the 1980s for instance Keith and I were not communicating very well. I got very involved with the business side of the Stones, mainly because I felt no one else was interested, but it's plain now from the book that Keith felt excluded, which is a pity. Time I reckon to move on.'

Richards agreed with him, adding, 'As far as the book goes, it was my story and it was very raw, as I meant it to be, but I know that some parts of it and some of the publicity really offended Mick and I regret that.'

The Rolling Stones are currently preparing for their fiftieth anniversary tour. They recently announced that it would be pushed back to 2013, as they aren't ready. The tour, had it gone ahead this year, would have started in the summer. To mark the fifty years as a band, the Stones will also release a photo album, called The Rolling Stones: 50. Released on July 12th, the book will feature 700 illustrations and notes from the band on their history.
