Katy Perry has gone all out for her latest video for Unconditionally – it’s got gowns, ballroom scenes, cheesy slomo, burning beds, rose petal showers and fake snow – everything you could ask for from a winter vide really. Yes, it’s over the top. Yes, it’s dramatic and overproduced, with tons of interpretive dancing and shots of Perry staring into the distance. What’s not to love, really?

Katy Perry has released a new video and it is the epitome of pop music.

The full lyrics might be a bit difficult to remember, but there’s a high chance that after you see/hear this, you’ll be belting “Unconditional/ Unconditionally” in your head for a few days. Perry’s songs in general tend to be very earworm-ey. So watch at your own risk.

The video was directed by Brent Bonacorso and produced by Thom Fennessey, Danny Lockwood & Jess Bell. The full album, Prism, is Perry’s fourth studio effort and has been out since October 18th. The singer explained for MTV that while a part of the record deals with broken relationships, she did not want to make her exes the “villains.”

"There's a lot of empathy in my writing, even if there is pain and sadness , Perry told MTV. "I think that I'm not always trying to point the finger. I think on this record, the whole Prism record, it's very self-reflective and you hear that I've kind of gone inside more so and looked at where I can make myself better, did a patchwork thing, rather than like, 'Screw you. You're crazy. F**k you'."
