Katy Perry is the new face of Moschino.

The 30-year-old singer announced her new role on social media by posting a photograph from the fashion brand's Fall 2015 campaign shoot, in which she wears a gold bra and short dark wig.

The 'Dark Horse' hitmaker received more than 175,000 likes within an hour of posting the picture alongside the simple caption ''The Face of Moschino'' and the label's creative director, Jeremy Scott, is thrilled to have her on board.

He tweeted: ''So happy to have @KatyPerry as the face of @Moschino!!''

The announcement won't come as a surprise to those following Katy's red carpet appearances since the 'Roar' singer has supported the brand for many years.

She recently wore a graffiti print dress by the designer to the Met Ball and teamed the gold quilted bra - featured in the shoot - with patchwork denim dungarees when she went to a Moschino party at the Coachella Music Festival.

Jeremy also created Katy's look for her Superbowl Halftime Show.

The designer previously revealed that the pair became friends after first meeting in 2008 at an event in Los Angeles.

He recalled that Katy marched straight up to him and said: ''Hi, I'm a singer and you're my favourite designer. One day, I hope to wear your things on stage. My name is Katy Perry.'''
