Singer Katy Perry celebrated her 29th birthday on Friday (25Oct13) by performing some of her hit songs at a high school in Colorado.
The pop star arrived at Lakewood High School flanked by football players and sporting the school's cheerleading uniform, for the pep-rally style performance, which featured her hit singles Roar and Firework.
The 2,000 students won a competition Perry launched in September (13) to create their own version of the video for Roar.
She tells Good Morning America, "So many different high schools came together and I was truly touched. Emotionally, I laughed, I cried. I was blown away by some of the creativity... We live in a time where I think where we are really distracted... Everyone came together and just made fantastic videos. School spirit still lives."
Perry was gifted with a letterman's jacket from students at the school and presented with a cake complete with a lion's head.
