Kate thinks Woody is in touch with his feminine side.
With her new film 'Wonder Wheel' out now, Kate Winslet has heaped praise on director Woody Allen for his portrayal of women in his movies. Kate has even gone as far as to say that she thinks he has womanly attributes buried under his masculine exterior.

The 42-year-old actress was deeply impressed working with Academy Award winning filmmaker on 'Wonder Wheel'; a story about a struggling married couple in the 50s on Coney Island; with his understanding of women a particular highlight.
'I think on some level Woody is a woman', she joked to the Sydney Morning Herald. 'I just think he's very in touch with that side of himself. He understands the female characters he creates exceptionally well. His female characters are always so rich and large and honest in terms of how they're feeling and he just knows how to write dialogue for them to communicate all that.'
Of course, not everyone is thrilled with this description of him. There are many who are shocked at why he is apparently being pardoned during this turbulent time in Hollywood, with the continuing sexual harassment issues, after his daughter Dylan Farrow claimed in 2014 that he sexually abused her as a child.
She opened up about her anger the situation in an article in the Los Angeles Times, where she cited examples of the court supporting her and her mother's claims in the past, and criticised several actresses for their continued support.
'Discussing Weinstein... Kate Winslet said, 'The fact that these women are starting to speak out about the gross misconduct of one of our most important and well-regarded film producers, is incredibly brave and has been deeply shocking to hear',' Dylan wrote.
'Of Allen, she said 'I didn't know Woody and I don't know anything about that family. As the actor in the film, you just have to step away and say, I don't know anything, really, and whether any of it is true or false. Having thought it all through, you put it to one side and just work with the person. Woody Allen is an incredible director'.'
