The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton has been in hospital since Monday, having been admitted with a severe bout of hyperemesis gravidarum, which is basically really bad morning sickness. While you'd think everyone would be sympathetic towards the young couple and Kate's plight, there are some jokers out there who haven't taken the whole thing so seriously.

Firstly, Frankie Boyle. Ever the joker the Scottish comedian has tweeted about the news to mixed response. He said:

On the other side of the world, a pair of Australian radio presenters also took it upon themselves to turn the news into entertainment. According to the Telegraph, jokers from the Sydney-based 2Day FM called the hospital ward at UK time 5:30am pretending to be the Queen and her husband, asking to speak to the young Duchess. Apparently, they were put though without question after having referred to Kate as their 'granddaughter'- the entire ruse clearly being entirely unbelievable. Apparently, at 5:30am that's when common sense flies out the window for the staff on ward at that time.

John Lofthouse, the chief executive of the King Edward VII Hospital in London, defended his staff arguing that their task and training is for caring for patients, not to "cope with journalistic trickery of this sort".
