Kanye West is having one heck of a week in the chart. While West and his fiancée Kim Kardashian reached the “highest point in their relationship” with the birth of daughter North West (get it? North? Highest point?) Kanye’s professional efforts have been paying off as well, as Yeezus is taking the charts by storm, not only domestically, but also in the UK. Confusing and egocentric as some of his lyrics may be, West clearly knows what he's doing.

Yeezus, the album which is meant to solidify Kanye’s godlike status (or something) has topped the UK album chart, ahead of Black Sabbath’s 13, which was Number 1 last week. This is West’s first UK Nmber 1 since 2007’s Graduation, The Mirror reports, so that’s one more achievement unlocked for the rapper.

Obviously Kanye’s brand new strategy (apparently based mainly on one rule: not giving a s**t) is paying off. This album features many more collaborations than previous offerings from the rapper. On Yeezus, we get to hear Ye alongside acts like Daft Punk, Frank Ocean, Kid Cudi, Charlie Wilson and Bon Iver's Justin Vernon – definitely not his usual co-conspirators. It’s safe to say that Yeezy has gone in an entirely new direction for this one – apparently, the name North really was appropriate after all, since for both West and his girlfriend, everything in clearly on the up and up.

Wonder if this burst of inspiration had anything to do with West's ladylove?

Whatever it is, the rapper really is on top of the world right now.
