The rapper has made a foray into clothing design over the last few years, and his most recent collection with sports giant Adidas debuted at New York Fashion Week in February (15). He has also reportedly purchased online streetwear retailer Karmaloop.com with his pal Damon Dash.

West has now admitted fans may have to wait a long time for a new album because fashion is currently his number one priority.

He tells Paper magazine, "I loved music. I loved it more than I love it now... It's just harder for me to do music now, period. It's easier for people who focus on it all day and who are younger in their concept of what they want to do with it. I am not what I would consider truly a musician. I am an inventor. I am an innovator...

"Right now, over 70 per cent of my focus is on apparel. I haven't even given my College Dropout (West's debut album) of clothing yet. We're still on mix tapes... Fashion is something that's in my heart to do - in my spirit. There's no world that can stop me from what I love. Not the rap world, not the fashion world, not the real world."
