Kanye West went shopping for wedding rings on Friday (16.08.13).

The 'New Slaves' hitmaker, whose girlfriend Kim Kardashian gave birth to their first child, daughter North West, in June, was spotted looking at diamond-encrusted jewellery for their upcoming wedding at Cartier in Beverly Hills.

A source told gossip website X17.com: ''Kanye was looking really carefully at wedding bands, like he was making a big decision. And by big, I mean, BIG -- the stuff he was looking at was the most expensive, biggest diamonds in the whole store.''

The 36-year-old rapper left the store empty-handed despite handing over his credit card at the counter and it is believed he ordered a custom-made piece for the 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star, 32, who was married twice before.

A source previously revealed that the couple, who were spotted out together in public for the first time with their two-month-old daughter this week, are in the final stages of planning their big day, which is tipped to take place in Paris.

The insider said: ''He wants something really cool and big and over-the-top. They'll most likely have a destination wedding. Kanye has never been married before and wants a big wedding. So Kim is getting used to the idea again.''
