Kanye West has settled the civil lawsuit filed against him by videographer Daniel Ramos after he was alleged to have attacked him outside Los Angeles International Airport in 2013.
Kanye West has apologised for allegedly punching a photographer.
The 'All Day' rapper was due to face trial over claims made by Daniel Ramos that he attacked him outside of Los Angeles International Airport on July 19, 2013 but they have now settled the case and, while it's unclear if the videographer received any payment in the settlement, one of the most ''important'' terms was that the musician had to personally say sorry.
Ramos' lawyer, Gloria Allred, said: ''This case was set for trial next week on April 14, 2015. However, today we filed a dismissal because the case was settled to the satisfaction of the parties. We cannot discuss the details of the settlement, except to say that one important aspect of it was an apology by Kanye West to our client, Daniel Ramos.''
Kanye - who has 21-month-old daughter North with wife Kim Kardashian West - was photographed shaking hands with Ramos after settling the civil lawsuit and the paparazzo's lawyer has hailed the settlement as a victory against celebrities who think they are ''above the law''.
Ramos' lawyer added to People magazine: ''We are very proud of our client Danny Ramos and his courage in bringing and pursuing this case which was so important to him and many other celebrity photographers.
''We believe that this case sent an important message. Celebrities are not above the law, and they have no right to physically attack someone simply because they were asked a question.''
The 37-year-old star had been charged with misdemeanour battery and attempted grand theft in September 2013 after he allegedly punched Ramos and wrestled his camera to the ground, but he pleaded not guilty to both charges two months later as he claimed he'd acted in self defence.
