Kanye West Surprised A Group Of Teenagers In His Native Chicago, Illinois By Attending A High School Open Mic Night.
Fellow Chicago native Chance the Rapper hosts an event called Open Mike twice a month for young creatives who want to share their spoken word pieces.
Chance invited West and another Chicago rapper, Vic Mensa, to Monday's (11May15) event, much to the surprise of the audience.
West and Mensa treated the crowd to a performance of the rapper's new single All Day and We Don't Care, as well as Mensa's song U Mad, as seen in photos and video footage uploaded on social media by students at the Reva & David Logan Center for the Arts.
The gig came just hours after he was presented with an honourary doctorate from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
