Kanye West has heaped praise on his bride-to-be, Kim Kardashian, insisting one of the reasons he's smitten with the star that she isn't using him for his money.
The rapper, who famously tackled the topic of money-chasing women in his hit Gold Digger, has opened up about his love for the reality Tv star to U.S. talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, insisting she's a calming influence on his life.
And he admits the fact that Kardashian has her own fortune also puts him at ease.
Speaking on the show on Tuesday (19Nov13), West said, "It's incredible to have a woman like that, that you know is not using you for money. I just have to word it like that because once you become like a multi-millionaire there's a certain type of women out there that they go for that and they'll put on the whole act and everything.
"But to have someone that has their own s**t. And her personality is so calming. And I don't know if that’s the way people would describe my personality so..."
Kardashian even helped West through the most difficult event in his life, when his mother, Donda West, passed away in 2007 from complications after plastic surgery.
He added, "She's an important person that when I was at my lowest moments I could get on the phone with her and she would make me feel like I was here for a reason and I had something to say and just support me through that."
West, who welcomed his daughter, North, with Kardashian in June (13), even joked about Tom Cruise's famous interview with Oprah Winfrey, in which he exclaimed his love for Katie Holmes by bouncing on furniture in 2005.
He said, "I don’t know if I can express it enough. It's almost like people make fun of me for like how in love I am... and also I'm trying to avoid the jump up on the couch moment, but yeah it’s just, it's good.’
West also premiered the video to his new single Bound 2 on DeGeneres' show, which features a topless Kardashian riding on a motorbike with her rapper beau.
