Rapper Kanye West Has Lashed Out At Critics Who Launched A Petition Against Him After He Was Announced As A Headliner At The Glastonbury Festival, Calling The Protest An "Insult To Music Fans All Over The World".
Organisers of the event faced a backlash from Glastonbury fans when they revealed the Stronger hitmaker would be one of three headliner earlier this year (15) - and one group launched an online petition urging festival bosses to cancel his performance.
The initiative attracted more than 130,000 signatures, while festival organiser Emily Eavis became a target of criticism and revealed she even was bombarded with threats of violence.
And, in a new interview with Q Magazine, the rapper called the online protest “an insult to music fans all over the world”.
When Kanye hits the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury on Saturday night (27Jun15), he'll have support from an unlikely source - Dave Grohl.
The Foo Fighters star and his band were forced to pull the plug on their Friday night set at the festival when the rocker broke his leg during a recent show in Sweden, and now Grohl believes West's set will be the highlight of the weekend, stating, "(It will be) one of the great moments in the history of rock ‘n’ roll."
