Rapper Kanye West was not happy to be placed 7th in MTV's Hottest MCs list
That Kanye West, eh? Always something to moan about. We say ‘moan,’ we mean ‘rant,’ of course. Good ol’ Kanye always has something up his sleeve to rant about and most recently, it’s been his positioning at number 7 of MTV’s ‘Hottest MCs’ List. Number SEVEN! Imagine! He’s Kanye West! Number Seven was never going to be good enough for that man. For most of us, being Top Ten in The World at… well, anything, would be a real boost to our egos. But not Mr Kim Kardashian. No sir. No how.
Speaking to Hot 97 radio, Kanye made his feelings quite clear on the matter, telling listeners “Yeah, number seven bothers me.” The top spot went to Big Sean and even if he didn’t want the top spot himself, West reckons it should’ve gone to Lil’ Wayne, not Big Sean. Perhaps if he’d named himself Medium Kanye, he’d have been a little bit higher up the list? Kanye went on to say that he reckons MTV were judging him less for his MC-ing abilities and more for his wardrobe explorations of late.
Kanye West reckons MTV don't like 'Kanye in a relationship'
“They don’t like Givenchy Kanye. They don’t like Kanye in a kilt. They don’t like Kanye in a relationship… I don’t think they really going bar for bar,” he told the radio host in an attempt to explain MTV’s prejudice against his music. Apparently, if he’d been rocking up onstage in a pink polo and a backpack all the while, he’d have shot right up that chart.
