Ever felt lost, afraid and in need of spiritual guidance? Well, fear not – solace and wisdom as at hand via a new Bible called 'The Book of Yeezus', which replaces every mention of God with the word ‘Kanye’.

Yes, seriously. An illustrated black hardcover book with gold leaf imprinting, 'The Book of Yeezus' is an exact reprint of The Book of Genesis, the first book of the Old Testament. But rather than crediting God with the creation of the world, it now says “and Kanye said – let there be light”.

Kanye West
First it was Yeezus air for sale on eBay, now it's Kanye Bibles

The strange item was picked up on by music website Consequence of Sound when they found it for sale on Etsy for $20. It was apparently created by three American brothers seeking to create what they call “interventionist art”.

The brothers who created it placed a description of The Book of Yeezus along with its listing, which reads “Each generation champions a superstar, so consistently relevant that they come to accompany that generation through it's [sic] evolution, being a part of and ultimately shaping its identity.”

“Such past icons have been the likes of Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, John Lennon, or Michael Jackson. For this generation, Generation Y, Kanye West is not only its greatest spectacle, but in some senses, a spiritual figure.”

However, they had no intention to upset or ridicule either Christians or Kanye with the item, simply wanting to see what they Bible might look like if it were to be published now given our love / hate obsession with the rapper.

“What if the Bible, the most singularly significant publication in the ancient canon of Western tradition, were updated to reflect our modern society?" the description continued. "What would it look like? What we came up with was an interventionist art, coffee-table novelty, that will appeal to both Kanye fans everywhere and those made curious by this enormous cultural phenomenon.”
