How very John Lennon of her!
Whenever there’s a slow news day, unearthing a little old drama usually does the trick… such was not the case with Kanye West’s rant on Taylor Swift, Pink and racism. To cut the long story short, Gawker obtained vintage audio of West after the 2009 VMAs ranting about Taylor Swift’s Award, Pink’s performance and his own snub at the VMA’s due to what he saw as prejudice on the part of MTV – although that’s not exactly how Kanye put it.
This is nothing new for Kanye.
“It ain't no love. What the fuck was Pink performing?” Kanye rants in the gritty audio. “Don't nobody know that song. Pink performed twice! Two songs? How the fuck Pink perform two songs and I didn't even get asked to perform "Heartless." "Heartless" is the biggest song of the year! It had the most spins of the first quarter! I don't know that Pink song! But I noticed that she's pink!”
But Pink refused to take the bait from the abrasive rapper.
But whatever reaction the media were expecting out of Pink, they didn’t get it. Instead, the singer turned the other cheek and tweeted a remarkably tame response. “Oh come on y’all… If people secretly recorded me and all the sh*t I talk…. It’s all good. All love. And we all still here. Peace please,” the singer tweeted. It looks like she wasn’t just keeping the peace, but even defending Kanye. Now that's big of her!
