Donda West passed away suddenly in November, 2007, just one day after Dr. Jan Adams completed liposuction, tummy-tuck and breast-reduction surgery on her in Los Angeles.

The coroner's report ruled the 58 year old died from "coronary artery disease and multiple post-operative factors due to or as a consequence of liposuction and mammoplasty". The official also determined vomiting and "medication use for pain" as contributing factors, according to the New York Daily News.

Adams was not personally faulted by the coroner and now the medic is speaking out, claiming the blame should lie on West's cousin, Stephan Scoggins, a registered nurse, as he allegedly failed to heed the doctor's advice to take Donda to a recovery centre after her surgery and instead took her home, where he reportedly ignored Adams' recommendations to install patient monitors.

Adams tells the Daily News, "Most people that I run into think she died on the table, they don't even know this lady was home for a day. The truth hasn't been revealed...

"It's a complete tragedy. Don't get me wrong, it makes me sick. She was a nice person. I do feel sad about what happened... It didn't need to happen, that's why it's sad. She should still be alive."

Now Adams, who was cleared of any wrongdoing by authorities, is urging West to face the facts publicly so the doctor can restore his reputation.

He tells the publication, "It baffles me when nobody wants to know the truth. I think (Kanye) should stand up and tell the truth, and the truth will set you free. I think the truth needs to be out there. If he had any b**ls or if he was any kind of man he could (speak up). But the real answer is he probably won't."

A state nursing board probe into Scoggins' alleged actions was dropped and he has disputed Adams' claims.

Adams quit medicine in 2009, but he vows he will never stop fighting to clear his name.

He adds, "What (Kanye) needs to know is it's never going to go away. It's out there and it ain't going to go away until we deal with it. I don't have to worry, I have truth and God on my side, on this one I'm absolutely correct."
