Justin Timberlake might have stayed away from music for a little while there, but when that man does a big return, it sure is a big return in every sense of the word.
The buzz around JT’s comeback started on Wednesday, when the actor/comedian/reformed singer tweeted the mysterious message: “Thursday, January 10th, 2013 at 9:01 am PST...”. The cryptic tweet was followed by an artsy, black and white video of Justin, returning to a recording booth, which talks about his artistic process and finishes with the words “I’m ready”. As part of the big campaign, the singer’s official website has also undergone a renovation and it now features a countdown clock, due to hit zero tomorrow (Monday, January 14th). According to The Hollywood Reporter, the full news is that Justin will not only be dropping a new track, but will also be putting out a whole album of brand new music, produced by long-time collaborator, Timbaland.
JT’s last studio effort – FutureSex/LoveSounds came out in 2006 and besides being lumped with heaps of critical reception, also managed to go four times platinum. And with just two releases in the past decade, the former boy band member definitely has a lot of expectations to live up to. If you, like us, are a fan of Justin (don’t try to deny it, we all are), tune in tomorrow to learn what the future holds for the man and his fans.
