Justin Timberlake received a rapturous welcome as he brought his tour home to Memphis, Tennessee on Monday (18Nov13) after the city's mayor dedicated the day to the singer.
The superstar took his 20/20 Experience World Tour to his hometown by performing at the city's FedEx Forum, and Mayor AC Wharton, Jr. celebrated the event by declaring 18 November to be "Justin Timberlake Day" to honour the singer's contribution to the "enduring legacy of Memphis music".
The politician also asked local residents to wear bow ties, in reference to Timberlake's hit track Suit & Tie, during the day.
After his concert, Timberlake expressed his gratitude to the city, writing in a post on Twitter.com, "M-Town (Memphis)!!!! What a homecoming. I'm so honoured and so proud to be from such a great city with so much heart and soul. Best show ever."
