Justin Bieber fans have reacted angrily to internet speculation the singer's famous 'Baby' video is to be removed from YouTube because of its negative ratings, reports Yahoo News. Despite its 600 million views, Bieber's video has received 1.5 million "dislikes" compared to only 750,000 "likes", enough to have it deleted from the site according to the rumour.
Twitter speculation that YouTube algorithms could delete the video based on "dislikes" prompted hundreds of Justin's fans to flood the video's comments list in protest. One fan urged other followers to "like this video", typing the message out 24 times in succession. On Twitter, 'Beliebers' attempted to get the phrase 'dontdeletebaby' trending as an online petition to prevent the video being removed. Responding to the rumours, YouTube posted a message on their Twitter feed, simply noting, "Don't worry! @justinbieber Baby is still here". According to Tmz.com, Bieber and his girlfriend Selena Gomez were spotted at the 'Lucky Strike' karaoke club in Los Angeles on Monday (11th July 2011) where they took to the stage for a duet of Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow's track 'Picture'
Justin Bieber's 'Baby' video was directed by Ray Kay, who had previously worked with Beyonce, Lady GaGa and Cheryl Cole. The clip features rapper Ludacris and Young Money artists Drake and LIL TWIST.
