Justin Bieber Has Vowed To Make It Up To Fans In The U.k. After Cancelling What Was To Be His First Live Performance In Britain In Two Years.
The pop superstar had been billed as one of the headlining acts for the Fusion Festival in Birmingham, England on 28 August (15), but on Tuesday (04Aug15), he took to Twitter.com to break the news to fans.
The three-day event raises funds for Charles, Prince of Wales' charity, the Prince's Trust, which aids young people in need, and Bieber has promised to return at a later date to show his commitment to the organisation.
In a statement released online, Bieber writes, "To all my UK beliebers (fans)... Due to an unforeseen issue I will be unable to perform at the Fusion Festival on August 28th. I support the Prince's Trust wholeheartedly and I am deeply disappointed I won't be able to perform. I look forward to the opportunity to give my UK beliebers a great show in the near future and hope to honor my commitment to (the) Trust at that time."
In a series of subsequent tweets, Bieber promises to "make this up to you soon", before anticipating the criticism he will receive for the cancellation, adding, "And now the Uk press will start to tear me apart. Comes with the job. Love u guys regardless and I will make this up to you. I do want to thank the prince's trust for their understanding and I don't take moving any show lightly. I will see u soon UK".
British rapper Tinie Tempah has since been listed as the headliner for the first night of the festival. Dance act Rudimental and pop rockers MCBusted will also be hitting the stage over the weekend (28-30Aug15).
