Justin Bieber responded to his Grammys-snub by putting together a master-plan to make sure his fans stayed well away from the awards' ceremony broadcast on Sunday evening (February 10, 2013). The 18-year-old pop star, who hosted Saturday Night Live the previous night, had promised fans a live-stream performance at 8pm, but things began to go awry almost immediately.

The tech savvy singer has done this sort of thing in the past, though the Livestream technology clearly wasn't on his side this time around. "Livestream is over capacity it not letting me in the room give me a second lol," he tweeted, before deciding to try something different. "Since nothing is working and I'm super upset I feel I gotta make it up to u," he added later, "I should post a new song on twitter so you can still be excited."

Bieber failed to receive any nominations at this year's Grammys, something that annoyed his mother Pattie Mallette. "I think they blew it," she told Alexa Chung during a sit-down interview with FuseTV. "It's my boy, I'm a little biased. I just heard that he's now had five No. 1 albums, so I think his music is speaking for itself. I think it's kind of good in a way.It gives him something to strive for and a goal to go for."

On Saturday Night Live, Bieber had poked fun at himself in a series of slits, one in which he called himself a "douche."
