Justin Bieber does not want to take alcohol abuse classes, community service or random drug tests, so his legal team rejects a plea deal set by the prosecutors in his Miami DUI case.
Justin Bieber is rejecting a plea deal over his DUI arrest in Miami this past January.
Prosecutors devised a deal which the 19 year-old's legal team did not like mainly because of one stipulation, it involved random drug testing, reports TMZ.
The deal is often given to first-time DUI offenders and it includes community service, taking a class on alcohol abuse as well as random drug testing.
Bieber's defence lawyers still believe the case, which will go to trial on March 3rd, still needs a lot of work before it can be taken to court.
Sources also told the gossip site that the defence team thinks the policeman who claimed to have smelt alcohol on the 'Believe' hit maker and reported his vehicle's speed during the drag race is lying.
Bieber will also not accept any plea bargain that contains probation under any circumstances, mainly due to the singer not wanting to be punished if he "screws up" in the near future.
This charge stems from an arrest on a Thursday evening (Jan 23rd) in Miami Beach after local police spotted him partaking in an illegal drag race in a residential area. He was racing against R&B singer Khalil Amir Sharieff, who was also charged with a DUI.
The 'Baby' singer, who was speeding in a rented yellow Lamborghini, was cursing at the police officers on the scene and a toxicology test later discovered that he had traces of marijuana and Xanax in his system.
This isn't the only pending court date Bieber has to worry about.
The pop-star was forced to travel back to his native Canada and turn himself into a Toronto police station to face an assault charge stemming from an incident that occurred last December (2013).
Bieber allegedly assaulted a limo driver after attending a Toronto Maple Leafs game on Dec 29th. The 'Love Me' singer began to physically harm the driver after a dispute occurred over the volume of the radio.
A court date for this legal issue has not yet been announced.
