Teen idol Justin Bieber looks like he might end up in spot of bother with police thanks to his reckless driving, after reports state that the singer reached speeds up to and possibly exceeding 100 mph as he raced from paparazzi in Los Angeles, TMZ reports.

Former LAPD traffic cop (and current LA City Councilman) Dennis Zine believes that the 'Baby' singer deserves to be placed behind bars after the high-speed chase with paps, after he escaped with a fine after finally being stopped by CHP officers.

A total of 10 different people called 911 to report the high-speed chase between him and pursuing photographers and Zine believes that regardless of the circumstances the singer had no right to drive at such a dangerous speed. He maintains that the 18-year-old put at risk his own life and the lives of those driving on the freeway at the same time, when he should have slowed down and pulled off at any available junction.

Bieber's PR team have since disputed Zine's estimate of 100mph, noting that police pulled up the singer for going 80 mph, a speed that is apparently acceptable.

It is still disputed whether who is to blame for the chase, Bieber for setting the speed or the paparazzi for pursuing regardless of the danger they placed in the hands of other motorists. Chances are the disputes will continue for some time, and hardly likely to ever be resolved.
