Justin Bieber is resting up after fainting onstage in London last night (March 7, 2013) and a spokesman for London’s O2 arena insists that this evening’s show will still be going ahead. It’s unclear what caused Bieber to pass out onstage, but according to Associated Press, he had to taken offstage by a backing dancer after telling the audience that he needed water. He was treated backstage and later returned to perform “low energy renditions” of a couple of his biggest hits, ‘Baby’ and ‘Boyfriend.’

Perhaps the pressures that the media have been placing on the 19 year-old had gotten too much for him to cope with. Or perhaps the physical demands of the live show had simply gotten too much for him. Either way, he seems to be on the mend and told his fans via Twitter “getting better. thanks for everyone pulling me thru tonight. best fans in the world. figuring out what happened. thanks for the love.”

According to one attendee at the concert, 20 year-old Jazz Chapell, people started to leave after he collapsed, and whilst many were visibly upset at his collapse, others were cheering for him to return to the stage. “I thought ‘give the guy a break,’” said Jazz. “He just fainted. He’s not a performing horse. Let him rest a second.” It’s been a tough week for Bieber in London. On Monday, he was reportedly 2 hours late onstage to his show, much to the chagrin of a number of audience members who were chaperoning young fans to a concert on a school night.
