Justin Bieber has been moved to further push for legislation after a photographer died taking pictures of his sports car. Bieber's comment came in a statement released on Wednesday by Island Def Jam Music Group.
"While I was not present nor directly involved with this tragic accident, my thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim," he said. "Hopefully this tragedy will finally inspire meaningful legislation and whatever other necessary steps to protect the lives and safety of celebrities, police officers, innocent public bystanders, and the photographers themselves." Police said Bieber was not in the Ferrari at the time of the accident and that a friend of the 18-year-old was driving when the car was pulled over for a traffic stop on the side of Sepulveda Boulevard near Getty Center Drive. The photographer was hit by a car after taking photographs of the Ferrari. Police have also confirmed that no charges will be filed against the car that hit the currently unknown deceased.
TMZ reported that the photographer had previously tried to take some pictures during a traffic stop, and was told by Highway Patrol to move back as he tried to get snaps through the Ferrari window because the situation was unsafe.
