Oscar winner Julian Fellowes opened the grounds of his sprawling English estate for a dog show on Sunday (10Jul11).
The Gosford Park writer invited dachshund owners and their beloved pooches to the event at his residence, Stafford House, in Dorset.
The canines competed for the titles of prettiest bitch, waggiest tale and best legs, and also competed in an agility course at the show, organised by members of the Southern Dachshund Association.
Fellowes, who has always been fond of dachshunds, explains, "My mother introduced me to them when I was quite young. Later (wife) Emma became a dachshund obsessive, so my mother and my wife have had this shared quality and we have always had a dax around."
