Armie Hammer (L) and Johnny Depp star in The Lone Ranger
Gore Verbinski’s take on the classic tale of The Lone Ranger got the Super Bowl treatment yesterday, with a new trailer giving a little more of an insight into the relationship between The Lone Ranger (Armie Hammer) and his trusty sidekick Tonto (Johnny Depp).
Two trailers have already been released for The Lone Ranger but this third shows a little more of the background of the Lone Ranger’s story, as well as giving more of a glimpse of the movie’s action scenes. the highpoint of the trailer is a scene shot atop a moving train, as the twosome meet an enemy who struggles to get a straight answer out of them. Are you going somewhere? “No,” answers the Lone Ranger. “Yes,” answers Tonto. Clearly in disagreement, Tonto turns out to have a little more insight into the matter and sure enough, the chains they’re holding get caught on a passing hook & drag them away from the train.
Johnny Depp stars in The Lone Ranger
Also starring Tom Wilkinson, William Fitchner, Barry Pepper and Helena Bonham Carter, The Lone Ranger is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and is expected to be one of this summer’s biggest blockbusters. Released in July, the movie tells the story of the famed masked hero, a man of the law, transformed into a legend of justice — taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption.
