Johnny Depp joined forces with his movie dad Keith Richards on Tuesday (25Oct11) to rock out at the New York premiere afterparty for his new movie The Rum Diary.
The Hollywood star stunned fans earlier in the evening when he appeared unsteady on his feet and had to be helped along the red carpet by a bodyguard, but he managed to recover in time to attend the afterparty at the Hiro Ballroom in Manhattan's Maritime Hotel with his movie co-star Amber Heard and good pal Richards.
Depp was so moved by the performance of his JD Band he joined them onstage, and took Rolling Stones star Richards with him.
The actor followed the guitar great's lead as the veteran rocker played a cover of blues star Charlie Segar's Key to the Highway, which was re-recorded by the Stones in the 1960s, much to the delight of the audience.
The famous pair wrapped up their impromptu performance by hugging onstage before jumping into the crowd and heading back to the Vip area.
It was Depp's second surprise show in a week - he thrilled revellers at a club in Austin, Texas last weekend (22Oct11) when he played with ZZ Top rocker Billy Gibbons after receiving an award at the Austin Film Festival.
