John Legend is offering fans the chance to win a private performance with a raffle to raise money to rebuild the auditorium at his old high school.
John Legend is raffling himself off for charity.
The 'All of Me' crooner is offering fans the chance to have him give a personal performance, with a donation of just $10 giving those who enter 100 chances to win and all the proceeds going through his Show Me Campaign towards rebuilding the auditorium at his old school, the former South High School in Springfield, Ohio.
In a YouTube video posted on the raffle's website, the singer plays a keyboard adorned with red rose petals and says: ''Hey, I'm John Legend, arguably, one of the most romantic people in the world.
''Valentine's Day is right around the corner. Love is in the air and I'm feeling very inspired to spread the love. That's why I want to sing a private show for you. Anywhere! Even your wedding! And if you're already married, that's cool, let's celebrate your anniversary.
''Not married? Not a problem,'' he continued. ''I'll sweeten up that hot date and get you to that next step...of marriage, of course.''
The 36-year-old crooner then warned he won't sing ''weird cover songs'' but admitted there would be one exception - and launched into a brief rendition of Color Me Badd's 1991 hit 'I Wanna Sex You Up'.
And as well as romantic occasions, John - who is married to model Chrissy Teigen - is happy to perform at backyard barbecues and toddler's birthday parties ''as long as there's no clown''.
The raffle ends on March 26 and as well as a private performance, the lucky winner will also get the chance to hang out with the 'Ordinary People' hitmaker.
Meanwhile, John has pulled out of appearing at a party in his honour tonight (05.02.15) at the Beverly Hilton Hotel because he disagrees with owner the Sultan of Brunei's views on same-sex marriage.
His spokesperson said: ''John Legend will not be attending the L.A. Confidential party at the Beverly Hills Hotel in light of the horrific anti-women and anti-LGBT policies approved by the hotel's owner, the Sultan of Brunei...
''John does not, in any way, wish to further enrich the Sultan while he continues to enforce these brutal laws.''
Los Angeles Confidential magazine, who are throwing the party to celebrate John's appearance on their current cover, said they ''respect'' his decision.
