John Legend showed his generosity on his bachelor party by leaving a $500 tip.

The 'Ordinary People' singer celebrated his last days of freedom before he marries Chrissy Teigen next month by partying with eight friends at nightspot Sienna in East Hampton, New York, at the weekend.

The guys ate dinner and shared a few laughs as they made their way through three bottles of Ace of Spades champagne before hitting the dancefloor to the tunes of DJ Alex Cecil.

According to the New York Post newspaper, Legend and the guys even interrupted their own celebrations to pose for photos with a bride-to-be on her bachelorette party.

When they'd had enough fun Legend and his pals left but not before the musician left $500 for his waitress.

Legend, 34, and Sports Illustrated model Chrissy will tie the knot near Lake Como in Italy early in September.

The 27-year-old beauty - who got engaged to Legend in 2011 after four years of dating - will wear a custom-made Vera Wang wedding dress on the big day and the couple hired a wedding planner to get every detail right.

However, things haven't gone completely without a hitch as a computer problem deleted the personal wedding vows Chrissy had written from her computer.

Sharing her bad news, she revealed: ''Completely lost everything on my hard drive with no chance of recovery. Now I have to get drunk and write my vows all over again.''
