Joe Manganiello believes the stripping skills he learned for 'Magic Mike XXL' convinced Sofia Vergara to marry him.

The 38-year-old actor - who is engaged to the 'Modern Family' beauty - believes the moves he learned for the stripper movie helped him secure his relationship with his bride-to-be.

Speaking to BANG Showbiz at the European premiere of the film at the Vue cinema in London's Leicester Square tonight (30.06.15), Joe said: ''All I can say is we weren't engaged when I was shooting the movie and then I learned all my moves and somehow wound up engaged, so I think this film had something to do with that.''

Joe - who attended the premiere alongside Jada Pinkett Smith, Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Matt Bomer, Amber Heard, Adam Rodriguez and the film's director Gregory Jacobs - also revealed he is letting his wife take control when it comes to planning the wedding.

When asked about getting ready for big day, he said: ''Well we're pretty traditional in that way. She's doing it.''

The star - who also revealed his fiancée has watched the movie a few times and ''loves it'' - was pleased with the huge crowd that turned out for the premiere in London.

He added: ''There's a lot guys as well as girls and I'm happy about that because I think there's a lot for guys to learn from this movie.''

Alongside his co-stars Channing and Matt, Joe walked down the red carpet to the sounds of screams from the waiting crowds as they posed for selfies with excited fans, with Jada spending over 30 minutes meeting and greeting those who had managed a coveted spot on the front row.
