Hey Potterheads, remember that fluffy epilogue at the end of Deathly Hallows? The-One-That-Shall-Not-Be-Mentioned in fan circles? Well, J. K. Rowling has added some new writing to the HP series and – you guessed it – it’s more of that 19 Years Later story. We can already see you rolling your eyes, HP fans, but JKR writes what she wants to write. And you’re obviously going to read it. In case you couldn’t think of any more loose ends that needed tying up after we found out even the name of Draco’s kid… well, our beloved series creator thought of some. Hurray.

The Trio is back in new writing from JKR.

So we know that Harry is an Auror, still happily married to Ginny, Ron and Hermione are also still together, and apparently Harry is getting the rough end of the stick over at his job as Auror for the Ministry of Magic. If any of those words don’t ring a bell, go back and re-read book 7, then move on to the chapter/second epilogue.

There is more to the story of course – unlike in the epilogue, actual events take place, but we’re keeping this as spoiler-free as possible. Also, if you, like most Potter fans, were about to click away immediately after the words “new writing”, don’t bother – the website is frequently down at the moment, most likely because the servers were overwhelmed by a wave of overeager muggles.

By the way, the new chapter comes seven years after the final book was published. See what she did there?

Rowling has been in the news a lot in recent months, whether it be for her £1 million donation in support to a "No" vote in the Scottish independence referendum, her second book as Robert Galbraith, or the fact that she is currently writing the screenplay for the HP spinoff Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
