Revolution, the new drama from Lost creator Jj Abrams premiered last night (September 17th) and received some very positive ratings, reports Seattle Pi.
Despite receiving some mixed reviews from the critics, Revolution opened to a strong 11.7 million viewers and a 4.1 rating in the adults 18-to-49 demographic on Monday. That’s a huge improvement on NBC’s premier of The Playboy Club last year, which garnered a mere 5 million viewers and a paltry 1.6 rating. In fact - according to NBC - Revolution's debut is the top non-preview network drama premiere since 2009 (ABC's V) and NBC's biggest drama premiere since 2007 (Bionic Woman). Recent X-Factor-slayer, The Voice won the ratings battle of the night with a 10 per cent rise to 13.4 million viewers and a 4.6 rating. Impressive. The stats, though, aren’t all that simple: Revolution did lose some viewers at its half-hour mark, falling to a 3.8 rating from a 4.4, and to a total viewership of 11 million from an initial 12.3 million, so the real test will be to see how many of those viewers return for the second episode.
Revolution depicts a world without electricity, highlighting the importance of it, and the plight our earth would face in its absence. Events take place 15 years after the mystery event plunged society into a non-electrical existence.
