Jim Carrey has appealed to his fans to donate to his girlfriend Jenny McCarthy's autism charity instead of sending him a gift this Christmas.
The funnyman's partner of four years has a seven-year-old son, Evan, who was diagnosed with autism aged two, after suffering a series of seizures and coming perilously close to death.
MCCarthy established Generation Rescue, an organisation which aims to help children with their symptoms, as well as their relatives - and Carrey is urging his devotees to give what they can to the cause this festive season.
In a post on his personal Twitter.com page, he writes, "Like Jenny, you might not know what to get me 4 Xmas. Give 2 www.generationrescue.org real support 4 families struggling with autism."
