Actress Jessica Chastain has bought her mum a vegan food truck.

The Help star turned her mother on to vegan cuisine when she visited her daughter in Los Angeles and now she's a certified healthy chef with her own business in San Francisco, California.

Chastain says, "I'm vegan and she came to visit me and we spent two weeks together and so she just ate the food that I was eating and she felt so good she went back home and there weren't any restaurants for her, so she was like, 'Y'know what, I'm gonna open a restaurant,' and she became a vegan chef and she's really good."

Chastain is following her mum into vegan cuisine after recently taking a two-week cookery course.

She adds, "There was a day of fish, which I just watched. It wasn't a vegan cooking class, it was just a health food cooking class... I watched them make the fish.
