Jessica Chastain has revealed she and her roommate, actress Jess Weixler, used to raid Pottery Barn's dumpsters for furniture to decorate their home when they were college students.
Jessica Chastain decorated her home with furniture from dumpsters when she was a college student.
The 'Interstellar' star shared a ''teeny'' apartment with fellow actress Jess Weixler and a ''mouse'' when they were studying, and the pair would salvage damaged items from their local Pottery Barn store because they didn't have enough cash to buy anything new.
Recalling her days living with Jess on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!', Jessica said: ''We lived in a very teeny, tiny apartment with another girl and us and a mouse that wouldn't go away. We furnished it all from Pottery Barn, but with the stuff they would throw away. I don't know how we figured it out but every Tuesday night, they would throw stuff away but in order to do that, they would destroy it first to make sure people wouldn't go and, you know, get all the stuff out of the dumpster. We didn't like that, they would stab a chair and we would just put a blanket over it and carry it home.''
During her appearance on the chat show, the 37-year-old actress also spoke about her night at the Golden Globe Awards last Sunday (11.01.14).
Jessica had a great time at the glitzy bash but she had to drink less champagne than she wanted to because he table was situated directly opposite the stage and she didn't want to get caught constantly quaffing on camera.
She laughed: ''Oh, the champagne is flowing ... except normally, I'm able to drink the champagne but I was sitting, basically, by the stage to the show. I was right there so I'm looking at everyone and it was a little stressful ... There was one point I was taking a drink and there was a camera right next to me and I was like, 'Oh put the glass down.' You never know when they're going to get you; they have those tricky cameras.''
