Jess Glynne no longer speaks to the girl who inspired her debut album.

The 'Hold My Hand' hitmaker split from her lesbian lover around the same time she signed her deal with Atlantic Records in August 2013 and the woman served to be the muse for many of the songs on upcoming LP 'I Cry When I Laugh'.

However, Jess and her mystery partner don't talk any more and she is ''sad'' that things turned out the way they did between them.

In an interview with The Independent newspaper, she said: ''The songs on this album are about a girl. I would never lie about a situation I've been in, I'm an honest person. I feel like with the album I'm putting my cards out on the table. I wouldn't want it to be misconstrued and the fact of the matter is those songs are about a girl. I was heartbroken about a girl, it wasn't a guy.

''But I haven't spoken to her, we don't talk. There's no talking. It's really sad when you think about it, that we don't talk. But it's her decision. I don't know what she's doing. I don't know if she's even heard it.''

However, Jess is adamant her album is not a heartbreak LP like the acclaimed records released by Adele and Sam Smith, but the lyrics are honest and about her life and experiences.

The 25-year-old singer said: ''My album isn't a heartbreak album. I wrote it about the journey I've been on, and I was going through a really sh*t time. When I was signing my record deal, there was so much happening and I was struggling. But life inspires me, experiences inspire me and that's kind of what the album is about and I decided to try and use it and see the positives in what was happening. I feel like it's a really positive album.''
