Jermaine Jackson's rendition of SMILE he performed at his brother MICHAEL's memorial service is set to rocket up the charts - officials acting for the King Of Pop have asked a judge to approve its release.
Jackson's elder brother performed the star's favourite song during the star-studded ceremony to honour his memory last month (07Jul09), following the 50 year old's sudden death on 25 June (09).
The service in Los Angeles was beamed worldwide, with 31.1 million people watching the telecast live in the U.S. alone.
And now fans are set to get their hands on Jermaine's moving tribute to his brother, after Michael Jackson's lawyers filed papers asking for its release.
In the documents, obtained by TMZ.com, the late superstar's legal team claims to have negotiated a deal with Apple Inc. for the promotion, distribution and sale of the audio and audiovisual recordings of Jermaine's performance.
The lawyers state there is currently "a heightened demand for such products due to Jermaine Jackson's moving performance during the memorial service, which may diminish over time" and have asked a judge to approve the deal.
