Jennifer Lopez is still nursing a "bruised bone" after her embarrassing stumble during her performance at last month's (22Nov09) American Music Awards.
The star fell after jumping from the backs of two sweaty dancers while singing and dancing her way through comeback tune Louboutins onstage at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
Lopez landed on her bottom with a thud, but swiftly leaped to her feet and carried on her performance. She later laughed off the stumble, joking that it was part of the show - but the singer admits she's still sore from the fall.
She explains, "I have, like, a bruised bone... What happened was that one of the dancers' backs was slippery from sweat and the lights and everything. We never bargained for that because they always had T-shirts on in rehearsal... and when I stepped on their backs, my feet were wet, so when I landed they slipped from under me."
But the fun-loving singer isn't taking her stage stumble too seriously - she agreed to film a mock fall in a skit on comedienne Ellen DeGeneres' TV chat show, which aired on Thursday (03Dec09), and agreed to show the footage from the AMAs, which was cut from the non-live telecast of the show.
She insists she didn't realise she'd taken a tumble because she was caught up in her routine: "That's kinda what I thought the rest of the performance: 'Did I fall...?' It happened so fast and I was up and all I could think was, 'I have to get to the next beat... I have to do this dance solo, right now.' I had no time to think about it.
"I did the rest of the performance, walked out, was like, 'Yeah...!' And one of the dancers was like, 'Are you OK?' And I'm like, 'Oh my God, that's right, I fell...!' It happened."
Lopez still can't believe how many people have checked out her most embarrassing onstage moment online: "(It's had) 400,000-something hits (on YouTube.com)."
To ease her pain, DeGeneres presented her guest with a pillow to sit on and made her chuckle with gifts of a crash helmet and kneepads.
Lopez performed the dance routine and song again on DeGeneres' show - and this time there was no slip-up or stumble.
