If Jennifer Lawrence hadn't realised already she was now one of the biggest stars on the planet, than she does now. The Hunger Games actress arrived for a taping of The Late Show With David Letterman in New York this week and was met by hundreds of screaming fans who jostled for autographs. Lawrence braved the chilly East Coast weather and spent time taking snaps with fans, though she was clearly dressed for the occasion in a warm black duffel coat.

Lawrence picked up the Golden Globe for Best Actress In A Comedy or Musical on Sunday (January 13, 2013) though there was some confusion following her acceptance speech, in which she yelled "I beat Meryl!" Lindsay Lohan was one of several who didn't get the joke and slammed Lawrence on Twitter, though the Silver Linings Playbook actress cleared up the remark on Letterman, confirming that she was quoting a line from the 'First Wives Club.' Lohan had assumed Lawrence was mocking former Globes winner Meryl Streep, who was nominated for her romantic-comedy Hope Springs.

Nevertheless, it was a superb evening for Lawrence and David O'Russell's indie-comedy, which received a slew of Oscar nominations at the announcement last week. The young actress remains the odds-on favourite to win Best Actress at the Academy Awards in February.
