Just when you thought the whole ‘Jennifer Lawrence at The Oscars’ thing couldn’t get any better, along comes Jack Nicholson to make the whole thing a lot more entertaining. Lawrence was being interviewed by Good Morning America’s George Stephanopoulous, after winning her Oscar, when Jack Nicholson came along to congratulate her and Lawrence ended up getting a little flirty with the Hollywood veteran.

Jack initially walked over to Jen, mid-interview and said “You did such a beautiful job! I don’t mean to crash your interview.” Always quick with a witty retort, Jen replied “Yeah you’re being really rude!” Luckily, Nicholson took the joke and wished her well for the evening, telling her “Enjoy the night. I loved you in the movie. It was great. You look like an old girlfriend of mine.” Now, Jennifer Lawrence probably didn’t predict that she would end her Oscars night flirting with The Shining star Jack Nicholson, but that’s how it wound up, as she said to him “Oh really? Do I look like a new girlfriend?” to which he responded “I thought about it.”

Clearly terrified by their little tete-a-tete, Jennifer was unsure if Nicholson was still lurking behind her, when he crept back up and said in her ear “I’ll be waiting,” making her jump in the process. Lawrence joked that she’d never met Nicholson before but she won’t be forgetting that introduction in a hurry.
