Rumours of a slanging match between actress and director emerged on Tuesday, but Lawrence and studio representatives deny it.
Jennifer Lawrence has taken to social media to assure fans that the rumours of a bust-up between her and director David O. Russell are untrue.
The ‘Hunger Games’ star is currently filming Joy, her third collaboration with Russell and actor Bradley Cooper, and rumours earlier this week suggested that there was a noisy falling-out on set between actress and director on Tuesday. According to some reports, the pair were seen screaming at each other.
Jennifer Lawrence has denied rumours of a fight on set with David O. Russell
A studio representative for Fox 2000 had sought to set the record straight on Friday, telling TMZ that it was simply a method acting trick that Russell was using to get her into the mindset of her character ahead of an emotional scene. Lawrence herself posted a message on Facebook to clear up the negative rumours.

She wrote on Friday: “David O. Russell is one of my closest friends and we have an amazing collaborative working relationship. I adore this man and he does not deserve this tabloid malarkey. This movie is going great and I'm having a blast making it!”
However, it apparently is true that Miramax boss Harvey Weinstein was booted off set by Russell when he came to visit. Russell does have some form with his temper – on the set of 2004’s I Heart Huckabees, he had a screaming match with leading actress Lily Tomlin, footage of which appeared online some years later.
Joy is a biopic, telling the real story of Joy Mangano, a struggling single mother from Long Island who went on to make a fortune when she invented a self-wringing mop that sent the Home Shopping Network into meltdown.
Russell, Lawrence and Cooper worked together on 2012’s Oscar-winning Silver Linings Playbook and on 2013’s well-received American Hustle. Joy has an expected release date of Christmas Day, indicating that Fox has high hopes for it.
