Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt, two of Hollywood’s hottest stars, are set to team for a new big budget movie set in outer space titled Passengers. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie has finally received the green light from studio Sony, but only after some big money negotiations.

The film is said to carry a price tag of $150m and will be one of the few original projects to get such financing from a big studio. In recent times studios have been reluctant to take such a financial risk with an original script and Passengers is one which has been in development for years.

But getting big names like Lawrence and Pratt hasn't come cheap for Sony. Sources have told the Hollywood Reporter that Hunger Games star Lawrence will be getting a massive $20 million against 30 percent of the profit after the movie breaks even, while Pratt looks set to pocket $12 million.

Pratt is coming off a massive box office success, after Jurassic World enjoyed an all-time record-breaking global opening of $511m over the weekend. The success of Jurassic World saw Pratt’s Passengers fee jump from $10 million to $12 million.

Set many years in the future, the film centres on a space traveller on a voyage to a distant planet who unexpectedly awakens from cryogenic sleep, a century too early. Feeling all alone, he decides to awaken a female fellow passenger which leads to an unlikely.

Oscar nominated The Imitation Game director Morten Tyldum is said to have already signed on to direct with shooting set to begin this September.
