It is physically impossible to count just how many times Jennifer Aniston has hit the frontpage of a magazine under the heading 'She's pregnant!' over that last couple of decades, but now it seems the actress has finally had enough of all the speculation and she's written an article to vent about it.

Jennifer AnistonJennifer Aniston speaks out about pregnancy rumours

Jennifer Aniston epitomizes the ridiculousness of celebrity culture. Constantly under scrutiny over her marriage, her changing body-shape and her non-existent plans for motherhood, she and husband Justin Theroux spend their days being persistently chased down by rapid paparazzi. Now she feels it's time to open our eyes to what this sort of thing is doing to regular women.

'The objectification and scrutiny we put women through is absurd and disturbing', she wrote in an article for Huffington Post. 'The stalking and objectification I've experienced first-hand, going on decades now, reflects the warped way we calculate a woman's worth.'

The response comes after Aniston hit headlines again in InTouch Weekly magazine, which published photos of her and her husband on the beach in the Bahamas. She was pictured wearing a bikini and, frankly, looking quite normal, but because her stomach wasn't concave, the headline read: 'Jen's finally pregnant'.

'For the record, I am not pregnant', she continued in Huffington Post. 'What I am is fed up. I'm fed up with the sport-like scrutiny and body shaming that occurs daily under the guise of 'journalism', the 'First Amendment' and 'celebrity news'.

'This past month in particular has illuminated for me how much we define a woman's value based on her marital and maternal status. The sheer amount of resources being spent right now by press trying to simply uncover whether or not I am pregnant (for the bajillionth time... but who's counting) points to the perpetuation of this notion that women are somehow incomplete, unsuccessful, or unhappy if they're not married with children.'

She also appeared to address the InTouch Weekly story indirectly. 'I may become a mother some day, and since I'm laying it all out there, if I ever do, I will be the first to let you know', she said. 'I resent being made to feel 'less than' because my body is changing and/or I had a burger for lunch and was photographed from a weird angle and therefore deemed one of two things: 'pregnant' or 'fat'.'

We're sure equally fed-up celebs around the world are now silently worshipping her.
